Court rejects P Jayarajan’s anticipatory bail plea.

Thalassery: The Thalassery sessions court on Saturday rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan in connection with Kathiroor Manoj murder case.

Thalassery District and Sessions court Judge V K Anil Kumar rejected the bail petition of Jayarajan, who was arraigned as the 25th accused in the case connected with the murder of RSS functionary E Manoj in September 2014.

In the wake of the sessions court rejecting the bail plea, the CPM has decided to file an application in the High Court.  Rumours have surfaced that the CBI may arrest Jayarajan who is  presently undergoing treatment at AKG hospital in Kannur.

The CBI had informed the court that Jayarajan, who is very close to main accused Vikraman, is not suffering from any ailments and he is staying in the  AKG hospital, to mislead the court. The CBI also said that Jayarajan, who was admitted to the hospital in the name of ailments, was shifted to the ICU initially. He was later shifted to the ward and is now continuing in the ward, the CBI said. ……

The CBI told the court that it had checked the hospital documents and found that Jayarajan did not suffer from any major ailments.  CBI is also taking efforts to shift the case to a court outside Thalassery, as the accused is a top leader of CPM.
