Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Thursday said that people of India should feel happy that a problem that long-lasted has been amicably and peacefully resolved.
“We should feel happy that a problem which has caused so much trouble has been amicably and peacefully resolved. Lots of conflicts and tensions happened because of the dispute. When the matter came to the Supreme Court, everybody was committed to accepting the verdict. The verdict came, a trust formed and they started building the temple yesterday. We should feel happy that it is resolved,” Khan told news agency ANI.
Khan said that it should inspire us to build a better India and should be proud and happy.
“This in fact, should inspire us to build a better India, an India which is based on the ethos of justice, mankind and dignity of individuals. This chapter is closed. We should be proud and happy,” he added.
Speaking on the high-profile gold smuggling case, he said, ” I have full trust in national and state agencies, they are investigating the matter. We should not be impatient and wait for their conclusion. I am sure whosoever is responsible for violating the laws will not be spared.”
