KOCHI: Philanthropy becomes a truly noble endeavor when individuals understand its core value and strive to live by it, said former Cochin Shipyard CMD Madhu S. Nair. He remarked that Seva Bharathi has always moved forward by embracing the deeply rooted cultural tradition of giving.He was speaking after inaugurating Seva Kumbh 2026, a gathering of social service workers and beneficiaries organized by Viswa Seva Bharathi at the Elamakkara Madhavanivas Swargiya Madhavji Mandir.
Highlighting the rapid pace of the current era driven by artificial intelligence, Nair noted that despite changing times, Seva Bharathi continues to stand as a pillar of support for those in need through a dedicated mindset and unwavering values, rather than approaching service merely as a transactional activity.Presiding over the function, Viswa Seva Bharathi President Vishnu Prasad B. Menon stated that the organization carries out its diverse welfare activities without any form of publicity. Viswa Seva Bharathi designs and implements numerous initiatives, including dialysis centers, providing free medicine for cancer patients, executing drinking water projects in tribal areas, uplifting economically and socially backward individuals and regions into the mainstream, educational support programs, and the “Shelter for All” (Thalachaykkan Oru Idam) scheme. He added that Seva Bharathi has always acted as a reassuring hand of hope.
In recognition of his distinguished service to the nation, Madhu S. Nair was honored by Viswa Seva Bharathi President Vishnu Prasad B. Menon. T.V. Venugopal, patron of the Pravasi Kshema Samithi, along with Dr. Darshana Suresh Babu—who secured the first rank in LLM from Cochin University and subsequently earned her doctorate in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)—were also felicitated during the event.
