New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has told the Rajya Sabha that 366 terrorists were killed, and 96 civilians and 81 security personnel lost their lives in Kashmir after the repeal of Article 370. It further said that no Kashmiri Pandit or Hindu has been displaced from the Valley after the abrogation.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh had asked the MHA about the number of Kashmiri Hindus and Kashmiri Pandits displaced in the Valley and the number of terrorists and citizens who died and the number of soldiers from forces and paramilitary forces martyred in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.

“After the repeal of Article 370, no Kashmiri Pandit or Hindu has been displaced from the Valley. However, recently some Kashmiri Pandit families, mostly women and children, living in Kashmir have moved to the Jammu region. These families are of government employees, many of whom move to Jammu in winter as part of the movement of officials and the winter vacation in educational institutions,” the MHA said in its reply.

Last week, MHA had said that incidents of infiltration and terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir decreased significantly since 2018 and a remarkable drop in the number of left-wing extremism across the country was registered.

A total of 143 incidents of infiltration took place in 2018 and only 28 infiltration incidents were recorded till November 2021.

In 2018, J&K had reported 417 terrorist incidents and this number came down to 244 this November.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs Nisith Pramanik while responding to a question on infiltration at borders in Lok Sabha on Tuesday had said that no infiltration cases took place at the China and Bhutan border in the last three years.

Member of Parliament Chirag Paswan asked questions on several cases of infiltration that have come to light in bordering areas during the last three years and the action taken by the Government in this regard.
