INS Mahe, INS Malvan and INS Mangrol, three Anti Submarine War Carriers (ASWCs), have been handed over to Bharat Navy at Kochi. They are built in Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL). They are new feathers to the cap of CSL which built the first indigenously designed aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. CSL signed the agreement with the Defence Ministry, on April 30, 2019, for building eight vessels; the aforementioned three ASWCs belong to this contract. They are going to replace the Abhay Class warships Bharat Navy possesses now.
