Kochi: The last rites of Ramachandran, former Mukhya Sikshak Ernakulam Edappally Devankulangara Sakha, who was shot dead by terrorists in Pahalgam, were deeply emotional. The Ganageetham, which he had learned to sing in the RSS Sagha, was sung during the cremation. The Ganageetham was sung as per the wish expressed by Ramachandran’s wife, Sheela, to Seema Jagaran Manch Dhesiya Samrakshak A. Gopalakrishnan, who had visited his home the other day. It was a song that Ramachandran often sang.
Even when the body reached home, emotional scenes were witnessed. His wife Sheela and daughter Aarthi accompanied the brave Swayamsevak on his journey with shouts of Bharat Mata ki Jai.
Seema Jagaran Manch Akhil Bharatiya Samrakshak A. Gopalakrishnan, who visited his family yesterday, stated that Sheela had requested everyone to sing this song together when the body was brought home. Sheela expressed that she herself wished to sing along with them.
A. Gopalakrishnan remarked that Sheela, despite her deep grief, took the stance of giving a befitting farewell to Ramachandran, a patriot who entered public service through the RSS.
