Kochi : BJP declares agitation against Silverline scheme which is all set to bifurcate Kerala into two segments. An action council has been formed with Metroman E. Sreedharan as the Chairman. He inaugurated an Anti-Silverline Public Meeting at Ernakulam Town Hall. It was attended by thousands of people. BJP agitation enjoys the support of Janakeeya Prathishedha Samithi (People’s Protest Council) which is already in the field against K-Rail. Council leaders Chacko Manalil and Thomas felicitated Metroman at the dais.
BJP state president K. Surendran presided. Surendran said that his party will go ahead with a strong campaign and agitation against K-Rail with the support of all sections of people. Novelist K.L. Mohana Varma, Central Minister V. Muraleedharan, Senior BJP leader O. Rajagopal, former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan, BJP leaders P.K. Krishnadas and C.K. Padmanabhan are the patrons of the action council. State BJP Vice President A.N. Radhakrishnan is the General Convener.
