Reports of terrorist threat: Security heightened in Sabarimala and premises.

Security has been beefed up in Sabarimala following the reports of terrorist presence in the south Indian states. The killing of a police officer in Kaliyikkavila was also taken into account while increasing security.

With the Makaravillaku getting close forces will be deployed at various points in Sannidhanam and premises. Checking at forest routes of Erumeli and Pullumedu has also been heightened.

Apart from Kerala Police, central forces such as NDRF, RAF, Black Cat Commandos, Thunderbolt, and Special Branch Bomb Detection Squad will be part of the security.
