Bengalooru Central Crime Branch has arrested a five member team for allegedly plotting for terror attacks. They are Zayed Suhail Khan (24), Mohammed Umar (29), Shahid Thabres (25) Zayed Mudraseer Pasha (28) and Mohammed Faisal (30), all are Bengalooru natives. One of the accused is reported to have escaped abroad. Seven indigenous guns, 45 bullets, 12 mobile phones, walkie-talkie sets, dagger, etc. have been confiscated. The youths were arrested when the police raided a house in the city. City Police Commissioner is reported to have said that they do have good rapport with Keralite Thadiyantavide Nazeer, an accused in Bengalooru blasts of 2008. Nazeer is jailed in Bengalooru Central Prison in connection with the blast case. PDP chairman Abdul Nasr Madani (from Kerala) is the prime accused in the case; recently Supreme Court granted bail for Madani to go to Kollam, his home town. It is reported that the five youths were jailed in Bengalooru Parappana Agrahara Central Prison as the accused in the murder of Noor Ahammed, a businessman in R.T. Nagar, Bengalooru. They got in touch with Thadiyantavide Nazeer in the jail.
Nazeer is the prime accused in Kozhikode twin blast case of 2007. Junaid, a native of R.T. Nagar and and an associate of terrorist ouitfits, was an accused in this case as well as the R.T. Nagar murder case too. It is reported that Junaid has fled the country. Police believe that he designed the plot for terror attacks and provided arms and ammunitions. Junaid was a prisoner in Central Jail, in 2020, for five months, in connection with another case.
Police is likely to take Nazeer into custody for interrogation. Basava Raj Bommai, BJP leader and former CM, has stated that larger conspiracy had been hatched in this case hence it needs NIA investigation.
The alleged involvement of Thadiyantavide Nazeer in this latest case justifies the stories this journal had carried in the past regarding Kerala link behind all religious terror activities in Bharat and abroad.
