RSS padasanjalans are not something new to Keralites. Every year, swayamsevaks carry out colourful sanjalans in Kerala, in connection with Vijayadashami celebrations, to celebrate the birthday of Sangh. It used to be organizational district-wise. But, when the number of participants increased in geometrical proportions, it was changed to lower organizational units. In some places, it is Mandal-wise and even Ghant-wide (formerly Taluk). This time in most places it was Ghant-wise. Thousands of swayamsevaks participated in various sanjalans and public saghikhs. Senior office-bearers who spoke on the occasions touched almost all national and international issues like border conflicts with China and Pakistan, Kashmir, Ramamandir, G-20, Hamas’s attacks against Israel, the concept of Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam well received by the countries around the world during G-20 Conclave, successful Chandrayan mission, etc. Apart from Ganavesh-clad swayamsevaks thousandss of women, children and sympathisers participated in the programme.
Aluva Sangh zilla, a part of the Ernakulam revenue zilla, had the zilla programme. More than 3,500 ganavaesh-clad swayamsevaks participated in the padasanjalanam. The Sanghikh was addressed by J. Nandakumar, Akhil Bharatiya Samyojak, Prajna Pravah.
Northeast monsoon with furious afternoon and evening rains and frightening thunderstorms usually poses threat to evening programmes in Kerala in October. But, this time, in most places, weather was kind towards the Vijayadashami functions.
Sangh sources informed that 164 padasanjalans were carried out in Kerala and more than 100,000 ganavesh-clad swayamsevaks participated in them. The number of women, sympathisers and local people came above 100,000.
