Thrissur: National sevabharathi will lend a helping hand to those who lost everything in the devastating landslide in wayanad.the rehabilitation of the victims ,adopting the children and making arrangements for their education are the big projects.said president of the organisation Dr Renjith Vijayahari and general secretary Dr Sriram Sankar.
Those who lost houses will be provided new houses with the help of society, under the, ‘thala chaykanoridam (a place to take refuge) project.
This will be implemented taking into consideration the centre-state government’s rehabilitation schemes,the availability of suitable land and
the interest of the victims.They requested th well-wishers ,organisations, instituitions and land owners in wayanad to donate land to sevabharathi’s “bhoodhanam,shreshtadhanam” project. The students who lost relatives, assets and houses will be provided educational fecilities ,scholarships.and those who lost parents accomodation will be provided at sevabharati’s ‘balika sadhans”
In order to resolve the mental health issue of the victims, permanent ‘punarjani counselling centers will be started at wayanad.After the devastating flood in 2018 and COVID pandemic such arrangements were made.Till a permanent solutions reached, drinking water fecility(mobile and permanent water purifiers) will be installed at the landslide hit area.To avoid ecological problems in future tree plantation project will also be started.Those who lost their livelihood will be imparted skill training to start self employment enterprises.
