The State Government rejected the flood report of amicus curiae submitted at the High Court .State explained that the amicus curiae report was not scientific and the report has been made by the statistics that was already rejected by scientific world. Severe rain fall was the cause of the flood. Central water commission has already approved the matter that heavy rain was the root cause of the floods. The state Government also added that judicial enquiry is not required for this issue. The Government submitted a detailed report describing the same in the High Court.
In its report, amicus curiae observed that simultaneous releasing of water from numerous dams at a stretch had caused the floods. The report also points fingers at the Government’s move, describing the flood as ‘man made’. Amicus curiae suggested judicial probe in its report. Around fifteen pleas were submitted in the court requesting enquiry of the state Government’s lapses in dealing floods. High Court appointed amicus curiae to help the court in considering these pleas.
