Citizen journalism is based upon public citizens “playing an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analysing, and disseminating news and information.Citizen journalism is an alternative and activist form of news gathering and reporting that functions outside mainstream media institutions, often as a response to shortcomings in the professional journalistic field, that uses similar journalistic practices but is driven by different objectives and ideals and relies on alternative sources of legitimacy than traditional or mainstream journalism
Citizen Journalism classes are conducted by VSK on all last Sunday of the month. The first class starts on 25th February 2018, time 3pm to 6pm at our Kochi Office. The topic was Photo Journalism. 20 aspirants from different fields attended the class
